Downtown Chicago South Loop Photographer – The Jackson Family
It’s that time of year. October has come and gone, and I’m cramming editing in day and night. Those who know me well will know that I do in fact LOVE editing, so this is great. The ebbs and flows of the different “season” of photography keep me going.
In my 7th official year in business, I know completely understand the routine that comes with January – April, which is typically the slowest season of the year, just because we aren’t really shooting outside. Spring always seems to bring lots of maternity and newborn sessions. Lots of green, flowers, and sun! Little girls can wear light and airy dresses comfortably and little boys can wear their sandals, shorts and a cute tank or polo. Fall inevitably brings out the masses! Every year, I’m booked weeks and months in advance during this season. With a whole host of location options, my clients typically select something in the neighboring suburbs.
I’ve known these three for over a decade, and so when they asked me to come to the city for their family session, of course I happily obliged. The last time they were photographed professionally was back when little Miss Carter was a newborn. Yes, it was in the NCP studio! So clearly, so much has changed. She is now a smart, funny, and beyond beautiful little girl that seems to steal the heart of everyone she encounters (including me). She’s got quite the personality, along with a mommy and daddy that adore her beyond words, so she really does have it all!
This session was beyond a dream for me. Gorgeous people paired with light that was beyond beautiful. I am so pleased with these moments I was able to capture for this family, our dear friends. Enjoy 🙂
