Chicago Golden Hour Photographer – The Altier Family

This golden hour session was everything I hoped it was be.  This family has been with me for a couple of years now, and it was so fun to see how everyone has grown.  It’s amazing….the kids get bigger but these two parents don’t age!  They are just as I remember them, fun, active and so in love with their beautiful family.

There’s just something about twins…don’t you agree?!  Every time I encounter twins in a photography session, I can tell that they are no ordinary siblings.  It doesn’t matter the age, whether two or twelve, they always just seem to get each other.  One feeds off the other…they can comfort each other like no-one else, and they also can “ignore” the other like no-one else 😂

On our walk out to the spot we would start, Dad actually told me that this was his “birthday gift” to himself…for his birthday, he wanted family portraits. I couldn’t help but think….WOW.  Isn’t that amazing?!  Material things are great, but aren’t moments really the things we end up cherishing most in life?  What will you look back on and remember about this time in your life?  I am so happy this family took the time, and trusted me to capture this special time in their lives.  At their viewing and ordering session, it was extremely fulfilling for me as an artist to watch their eyes glow at viewing their portraits.  It was amazing to watch them hold their children in that moment, and kiss them…over and over and over again.  This family oozes love, and this, my friends, is what life is all about.
